About Valerie

Supporting healing, resilience, and meaningful change—
through nervous system awareness
and embodied practice.

Aloha, I am Valerie

My life's work has been guided by a deep curiosity around healing, embodiment, and what helps us remain connected to ourselves and others through life's challenges.

My path has been shaped by supporting my community and clients through life's challenges and transitions, witnessing the many ways we adapt, protect ourselves, and sometimes lose touch with who we are.

What has landed for me is that beneath every adaptation lies an intelligence that deserves to be met with curiosity and compassion.

Over time, that curiosity led me beyond movement and into a deeper exploration of the nervous system, embodiment, listening therapies, and the complex interplay between biology, experience, relationship, and healing.

Through experiencing different cultures and ways of life, I have come to realize that while our stories may differ, our deepest longings for connection, belonging, and a sense of home within ourselves are universal.

What began as a love of movement and a fascination with the body's extraordinary wisdom gradually evolved into a deeper exploration of the nervous system, embodiment, listening therapies, and the intricate relationship between physiology, lived experience, and our capacity for healing.

Today, my work is an invitation to discover new possibilities for healing, growth, and transformation through greater awareness, presence and understanding.

The Essence of My Work

Healing rarely happens in a straight line…

Resilience is not simply about surviving—it is about developing the flexibility and capacity to adapt to life as it unfolds, while remaining connected to ourselves, to others, and to what matters most.

From this place, resilience becomes something more than endurance. It opens the possibility of creating and inhabiting a life that feels meaningful, alive, and connected, while remaining open to new experiences and possibilities with curiosity and wonder.

Over time, the urgency to fix, overcome, or push through gradually softened into something more attentive—a deep listening, an honoring of the process, and a growing respect for timing, pacing, and the body's own intelligence.

What emerged was not only a different understanding of healing, but a different way of listening, relating, and being in the world.

Together, we can create space for greater flexibility, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful change.

Training and Professional Background

My work is informed by more than three decades of experience in integrated movement, meditation and somatic practices, yoga, Pilates, sound therapy, nervous system-informed approaches, and holistic wellness.

My training includes neuromuscular re-patterning, imagery and sensory awareness, therapeutic touch, Polyvagal-informed practices, and listening therapies, each contributing to a deeper appreciation of the body's remarkable capacity to adapt, heal, and grow.

I am a Certified Sound Therapist, SSP/RRP Certified Provider, and Somatic Movement & Polyvagal-Informed Practitioner.

My approach is grounded in both science and lived experience, and informed by a deep respect for the complexity of being human.

Every person brings a unique story, shaped by their culture, early life experiences, challenges, strengths, and aspirations.

For this reason, I believe that meaningful support begins with listening—
taking the time to understand what matters to you, what resources are already present, and what may be asking for attention at this stage of your journey.

If something in these words resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can explore what feels most supportive for you at this moment.
