About Valerie
A gentle, nervous-system-informed approach to healing & embodied wellness
Hi I am Valerie
Your intuitive guide, somatic movement educator, sound therapist and Polyvagal informed practitioner.
I am a certified Safe & Sound (SSP) & Rest & Restore (RRP) Provider
My approach
I am the founder of the Mindful Mover, a body of work that emerged from a lifelong inquiry into healing, the body, and the deeper patterns that shape how we live and respond to life.
Much of my life has been devoted to supporting my family, community, and clients through moments of uncertainty, chronic pain, illness, and crisis, witnessing the many ways we learn to adapt, to protect, and, at times, to lose connection with ourselves. These experiences have
lead me to understand, that beneath every adaptation lies an intelligence that deserves to be met with curiosity and compassion.
Over the 35 years I have worked with people, I have learned that healing rarely happens in a straight line. We are often taught that survival depends on being strong enough, fit enough, or resilient enough to endure. Yet true resilience is something far more nuanced.
Through the lens of the nervous system, resilience is not simply about surviving. It is about developing the flexibility and capacity to adapt to life as it unfolds, to move through different states without becoming stuck in them, and to remain connected to ourselves, to others, and to the reflective spaces within us.
From this place, resilience becomes something more than endurance —
it opens up the possibility of thriving, of creating and inhabiting a life that feels meaningful, alive, and connected, while remaining open to new experiences and possibilities with curiosity and excitement.
Much of what I understand about healing has emerged through both lived experience and years of professional practice—through sensitivity, rupture, repair, and the ongoing process of learning how to live in relationship with them.
The urgency that was once there to fix, overcome, or push through gradually softened into something more attentive—a deep listening, an honoring of the process, and a growing respect for timing, pacing, and the body’s own intelligence.
What emerged from this process was not only a different understanding of healing, but a different way of listening, relating, and being in the world.
Together, we create space for greater flexibility, deeper self-understanding, and meaningful change.
Because healing is not about becoming someone else.
It's about coming home to yourself.

My Background & Training
With over 35 years of experience in holistic health and somatic therapy, my work integrates body-based wisdom, intuitive touch, sound therapy, and nervous system support into one cohesive process that is safe and translate into long lasting changes.
My background as a movement educator, dance therapist, and practitioner of Pilates and yoga is complemented by advanced training in neuromuscular re-patterning, imagery, therapeutic touch, and sensory awareness.
I am a Certified Sound Therapist with the globe institute of San Francisco, a Bio-field tuning forks practitioner and a certified provider of the Safe and Sound and Rest and Restore protocols—
a Polyvagal-informed listening intervention designed to support emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and autonomic nervous system balance.
In addition, I offer intuitive mentoring, guiding clients through life transitions, personal growth, and embodied transformation using the human design and the Gene keys.
What ties all of this together is an evidence-informed, client-centered approach that blends movement, sound, and mindful awareness with emotional insight. By moving mindfully, listening deeply, and integrating easy to do mini daily practices, I empower individuals to become active participants in their healing and long-term well-being.
