About Valerie
A gentle, nervous-system-informed approach to healing and embodied wellness.
Hi I am Valerie !
Holistic Wellness Coach • Somatic Movement Educator • Sound Therapist
Certified Safe & Sound (SSP) & Rest & Restore (RRP) Provider
My approach
I’m the founder of The Mindful Mover — and for more than 35 years, I’ve been supporting people in reconnecting with their bodies and nervous system— cultivating resilience, and finding new ways of moving through life with ease.
My own journey towards wellness has taught me that healing isn’t about pushing harder or doing more — it’s about listening deeply, honoring your body’s wisdom, and creating the conditions where change feels safe and possible.
I work carefully at the intersection of evidence-based research and soul driven spirituality to help move you towards a life of profound meaning, vibrant health, and increased vitality.
Who I Support
Over the years, I have worked gently and collaboratively with individuals navigating:
Stress, overwhelm, chronic tension
Nervous system dysregulation, shutdown, freeze
Chronic illness or long-term health challenges
Chronic pain & postural imbalances
Trauma recovery (body-centered, gentle)
Sensory sensitivity & neurodiversity
Burnout, emotional fatigue
Life transitions & periods of uncertainty
What I’ve learned is that every nervous system is different — and each person deserves a pathway that honors their unique pace.
My Background & Training
With over 35 years of experience in holistic health and somatic therapy, my work integrates body-based wisdom, sound therapy, and nervous system support into one cohesive process. Healing, for me, is never about doing more or forcing change — it’s about creating the conditions where your body and mind can move toward balance at their own safe pace.
I specialize in integrative approaches to postural alignment, chronic pain reduction, and nervous system regulation. My background as a movement educator, dance therapist, and practitioner of Pilates and yoga is complemented by advanced training in neuromuscular re-patterning, imagery, therapeutic touch, and sensory awareness.
Alongside hands-on somatic work, I am also a certified Sound Therapist and trained provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) — a Polyvagal-informed listening intervention designed to support emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and autonomic nervous system balance.
In addition, I offer intuitive mentoring guiding clients through life transitions, personal growth, and embodied transformation.
What ties all of this together is an evidence-informed, client-centered approach that blends movement, sound, and mindful awareness with emotional insight. At the heart of my philosophy is the belief that less is more — by moving gently, listening deeply, and integrating practices into daily life, I empower individuals to become active participants in their healing and long-term well-being.
